Loss on drying

Not more than 3.5 per cent, determined on 1.0 g by drying in an oven at 100 ^o to 105 ^oC.

Not more than 0.15 per cent, determined on 1.0g. 

Assay

Chlorhexidine diacetate contains not less than 98.0 % and not more than the equivalent of 101.0 percent of 1,1'-hexamethylenebis      [5-(4-chlorophenyl)biguanide]diacetate, calculated with reference to the dried substance.
